چکیده
A range of stabilisers for poor quality subgrade soils have been developed to promote road constructions. Many them are becoming more popular depending on their effectiveness. The purpose behind this research is identify the relative efficacy many physical and chemical stabilisation techniques enhancing properties three types local Iraqi soils. comparison samples based CBR tests. AASHTO (1993) flexible pavement design was used compute thickness requirements. soil A, B C a natural values 3.8, 3.9 4, respectively, which Powdered rock (PR), grained recycled concrete (GRC), crumb rubber grains (CR) were employed, while Quicklime (QL) activated fly ash (AFA) both utilised as stabilisers. with 15 % AFA proved be most applicable method reducing requirements by 51 32 %, reasonable financial feasibility both. same proven when stabilising type GRC, reduces pavementthickness 25.7 %.

Determining the Relative Importance of Parameters Affecting Concrete Pavement Thickness
Spending costs in construction of road pavements has turned this subject into one of the significant points in transportation infrastructure of countries. Concrete slabs consider as a paving method with ability of reducing the rehabilitation needs. Therefore, to manage costs and optimize the thickness of concrete pavements, recognizing the amount of determinative factors’ influence will be requ...
متن کاملBackcalculation of pavement layer parameters using Artificial Neural Networks
In this paper, a new formulation based on Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) is presented for backcalculation of pavement layer moduli. In structural analysis of flexible pavements, the procedures as Layered Elastic Theory, Equivalent Layer Thickness (ELT), and Finite Elements Method (FEM) generally have complex formulations and give approximate results. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to pe...
متن کاملMeasurements of the Stiffness and Thickness of the Pavement Asphalt Layer Using the Enhanced Resonance Search Method
Enhanced resonance search (ERS) is a nondestructive testing method that has been created to evaluate the quality of a pavement by means of a special instrument called the pavement integrity scanner (PiScanner). This technique can be used to assess the thickness of the road pavement structure and the profile of shear wave velocity by using the principle of surface wave and body wave propagation....
متن کاملComparative analysis of using artificial neural networks (ANN) and gene expression programming (GEP) in backcalculation of pavement layer thickness
Pavement deflection data are often used to evaluate a pavement’s structural condition non-destructively. It is essential not only to evaluate the structural integrity of an existing pavement but also to have accurate information on pavement surface condition in order to establish a reasonable pavement rehabilitation design system. Pavement layers are characterized by their elastic moduli estima...
متن کاملReduction of optic nerve fiber layer thickness in CADASIL.
Our study aims to assess nerve fiber layer (NFL) thickness in patients affected by cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leucoencephalopathy (CADASIL). Six CADASIL patients (mean age 42 +/- 16 years, best corrected visual acuity >20/20 with refractive error between +/-3 diopters, intraocular pressure <18 mmHg) were enrolled. They were compared with 16 age-matche...
